Why Do Robotics?
Not only is IMVERT a great opportunity to learn how to manufacture and program working robots, it's also an avenue to meeting new, like-minded people.
Participants will meet and interact with many other students from other teams. Members also get the chance to learn industry-standard practices and procedures used in the fields of manufacturing, computer science, engineering, and many other disciplines.

In addition to these many benefits, FIRST offers millions of dollars in college scholarships to graduating seniors, and many employers look highly upon the inclusion of "FIRST Robotics" on a resume.
Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire young adults to be leaders, by engaging them in mentor-based programs to compete in FIRST robotics competitions.
These programs help build skills in science, technology, engineering, artistry, and mathematics (STEAM) that inspire innovation.
Overall, we strive to instill a sense of teamwork and professionalism in a healthy learning environment, as well as to help students develop interests for their future.
Team History
Founded in 2011 by CTE instructor Mike Criner at Mount Vernon High School, IMVERT has been consistently growing since.
We are very active in our school and community, from holding competitions at the high school, to giving a presentation on FIRST to a room full of PACCAR engineers. Every student who is involved in our program learns real world skills from Computer Aided Design, to business management.
